i work this step with my sponsees the way greg p worked it with me.he learned about working it with his sponsors[jimmy k and bob b]

 the closest symbolynce i have seen of it has been in another fellowships step guide,but this is how greg taught me in 1995,the way he was shown.

Absolutely Dalin my survival skills are RUN or FIGHT and I do both according to the situation and neither leave me with a good feeling about myself AND i'm clinging on with dear life for these skills and matters GET WORSE!

THe footwork is TOUGH een stopping and praying is tough sometimes when those survival skills want to kick in and take over .

I AM IMPATIENTand definetly lack humility, though I humble myself to knowing/admitting that I am wrong I always take back that humility at some point. So whats the opposite of humility? PRIDE . Are we proud of our defects that bring us so much pain ? I know i'm not they bring me nothing but shame.......

So somehow we have to find the GOOD in all of our defects and characteristics?

The footwork is to watch ourselves closely and not react and pray to do Gods will in things keeping it spirtitual? This is a tough job that I would like to hand to someone else to do for me

I just make up some big bowls of water and food and they just sleep while i'm gone and I try not to worry then I hired a kid to feed the outside cats so everyones fine if I go somewhere for more then a week my Aunt checks on the inside cats .




So as not to take over the thread here I have a real feeling that charecter defects are just like our addiction, it takes a great deal of pain and suffering to admitt defeat and surrender that our lives are unmaneagable I just hate losing so much so I guess the sooner we get a handle on our defects the better and the less there is to lose.

we are leaving our kitty here while we go on a week long na retreat next week.some one is coming twice a day to see her and feed her.

every thing in the book goes through the name group concience process that the basic text went through.some of the guys edditing it where the same guys that edidited the basic text.

it isnt a local thing,it is world wide in several languages,so every one has a chance to speak.this is work done by addicts,not hazelthing,or shrinks,or professionals.
