OVEREATING

yes-is'nt addiction fun.I have compulsive overeating issues, and I read a story in N.A. literature, about someone that had wieght issues and drank and did other things as well, and i remember this kid in rehab was 18,and we were discussing multi addictions, and when i told him about compulsive overeating being one of mine,he said well at least you werent doing drugs all the time because you were overeating.i was blown away that he understood that at his age,but also it gave me the creeps because i thought if i wasnt overeating I WOULD have been doing other things to replace that.addiction is so complicated.that's why I feel so much peace in those meetings, because no one expects you to sit there and spend your time analyzing why it works- it just works.I feel like i was a story in the big book of AA where the man stands on a bridge with his pants on fire and there's a river undernieth him,and he's standing there on the bridge trying to figure out why his pants are on fire.ive compulsed many times with "why am i like this" and i know its a waste of time to try to figure that one out.

That's how I got my user name. I used to have MSN and every user name I'd pick was already taken, so I said Samantha's a Maine Coon Cat, I bet nobody using cooncatbob. So I use that name at all the forums I belong to.

It's been just as hot up here around Sac, the whole Valleys an oven.
Besides Samantha I have a little shorthaired tabby named Chiquita who was semi feral.
If I don't keep them brushed the fur would be everywhere. When I empty the vacuum it's half cat hair.
Just curious, I have a friend who sells NA jewelery and other recovery stuff at event all over Calif and Nevada. His name is David J and he seems to know everybody, ever run across him?

YEP oven pretty much describes things here too, friend of mine just got out of the hospital from heat stroke been there 3 days he works outdoors I work mostly inside doing interior painting .

I know bob I don't brush them enough now the orange one has knots bad I can't get them out without cutting them but I did'nt think his hair was long enough to ball up but it has and really tight too.

That grey one she was feral but I would feed her at my door, She got pregnant and one night I could hear her at my door howling so I went outside to see what was wrong, she would run from me 5 feet and howl so I started to follow her and she just kept doing this until she got to my neighbors fense then jumped up ontop the fence and just stood there staring then lept over . So the next day my neighbor tells me she had her kitten in a big clay pot on his patio so I went over put a piece of carpet over the top and carried her home and she's been here ever since and loves the heck out of me . I found homes for her 3 kittens too.

Samantha the the Holstein cow looking one she followed his Dad from a block away I found out the people were going to send her to SPCA after she got old enough to adopt so I know what happens to alot of those cats so I kept her.

Chelsea is an Ex girlfriend who did want her anymore.

So there good company otherwise i'd be alone my last girlfriend lived in texas we just split up tonight after 3 years long distance, things just did'nt work out and chels been thru alot of crap with me so she gets special treatment, she's sick and not much longer here with me too, some sort of slow growth cancer but it takes awhile to become full blown from what the vets told me so I just keep close eye on her soon as I see some discomfort i'll take her in and have her put too rest, that will be a very sad day for me but we'e had a good long time together and she's always been treated good by me even when I was using.

Bob I don't believe i've ee met David J i've mostly gone to AA in the past maybe thats why but i'll ask my Sister she's very active in NA up in San Francisco and knows a whole lot of people.

Kool cheryl I like dogs too just no room for one here But I tried last year to adopt a dog anyways, from the SPCA and what happened was he had a hernia on his rear end at first we thought it was an impacted anal gland and it was'nt going to be a big major thing, then the Doc looked at it and said YES this is a major thing and I could not afford to get him fixed up and this was after I payed for everything his shots and nuter cleaning and all I was really dissapointed and I believe that they put him down, I felt really guilty about that but the opporation was going to be very expensive without a guarantee he'd get well.

I figure it this way and I was thinking about these cats this weekend, they are gods gift to me for me to take care, they are his creatures and he's given them to me to care for I may not get along with humans real well but I do animals so I have this responsibility for now maybe a human in my life will come later on HA* HA*

i agree with you animals are a gift from God.i feel like my dog is my only companion.i work around people for a living but i can only take so much being around humans.a dog can be a pain to take care of,cuase i couldnt afford if something major happened, and i have to look for a place to live that will take dogs.he's only two,so i know this will go on for awhile, unless my 16 yr old actually takes him when he moves out.im not holding my breath, cause my duahgter is 18 and moved out and she still has her fat grey cat oliver, here.(even though i love and spoil him)
