Applauding and cheering during meetings

Hello, I am from Victoria, B.C. and I am trying to find guidance on a conflict we're having in my homegroup. What is NA's position on applauding and cheering during meetings? Is there literature out there? Does anyone have practical guidance for a group's anonymity and layout? During our meetings clapping was normal for people taking clean time/birthdays but now it has become clapping for everything; visitors from out of town, something positive someone shares, any mention of clean time, or even after someone reads. The issue on the table is that some of us believe it eliminates the safety and reverence of the meeting. Clapping and positive reinforcement is one thing, but verbal cheers and rampant applauding seems more to do with the people taking part in it than the sharing person themselves. Moreover, the boisterous energy seems to ramp up through the meeting and influences member shares to be geared toward punch lines than a message of hope. My task before our next business meeting is to seek help and guidance from others. Does anyone have any suggestions?
