checking in after sometime !!!

Hello folks,

Raman an addict,,,signing in after nearly two weeks !!!

I had to be hospitalised for gall bladders stones,,, a painful condition that peaked after few very exiting shows with my saxophone !!!

I sat there that nite going crazy with the pain,,, had a friend take me for first aid,,,

and next morn,, straight into ICU !!!

That doctor after some examination and tests said=

'' YOU CAME JUST IN TIME, BEEN MANY CASES OF STONES GETTING SO PAINFUL THAT THEY GO INTO SHOCK AND SOME EVEN DIE"

i was wondering what id done wrong to be here and the doctor says=

Stones is very common,,, it begins bothering you at the late stage !!!

I had prescence of mind to tell em that i did not want to take any narcotic pain killer( they were trying to give spasmoproxyvon),so they gave me the other ones .

In the meanwhile calls and visits from Na mambers, family and frineds got me back on the positive.

I was trying to connect with MIP but they have no internet in there in the wards !!!

I was gald to rediscover the Basic Text and wrote out a lot of thoughts .

Now 10 days later I am discharged and without that severe pain,,, however it has been highly recommended that i get the gall bladder, (this organs benn the one making the stones in the first place !!!)out of my system !!!

They call that a laparoscopy and its about a week or so to that operation,,, so im doing all i can to rest,be cheerful,Meditate and Pray and get ready for whatever will be revealed for the next phase of my recovery and life !!!

the one outstadning thing that came accross in the tex6 is how pain can be a turning point,,, especially as i saw so many people do their bit to meke me feel less pain,,,

docs, nurses, wards boys and girls, new and old friends,my owm daughter and my mother, my brother and sister in law and the many NAs who called in or came to see me !!

Gee,,, its like i really belong on earth again !!

Best wishes and love to you all !!!

Raman,
I am glad that you are doing ok, despite having to cope with life on lifes terms. God does give us the ability to do this, if we are willing to pick up the tools we have been given,..and to use them. It is truely a miracle to watch someone who is in NA, in the hospital, seeing their fellow addicts pouring in to lend their support. Seeing a change from a group of people who formerly dedicated their life to being separate from their fellow man, into people who care about each other and do what they can to help has been a vision of hope to me. I have seen this happen over and over in my area.

Gallstones are very painful, life will be better without your gallbladder. Of course the removal of the gallbladder will require a few changes in diet, but the things you will need to stop eating, you probably should give up in the name of healthy living, even if you still had your gallbladder.

I do find it kind of funny that whenever something goes wrong, or just not how we think it should go, addicts always assume that they did something to make themselves deserving of punishment. I think those thoughts are just shadows left over from yesterday, when we thought that we were unworthy of the love of our fellow man, and the love of our HP.

Good luck Raman, and keep your faith, you will get better.

Lon
