Just had a thought (no it didn't hurt biggrin) This will be my 37th consecutive New Year's Eve Clean and...

Clean and Crazy - some of the time

Clean and Serene - much of the time

Clean and Free - all of the time!

Here's looking forward to another year of 365 One Day at a Time's Clean by the Grace of my Higher Power whom I choose to call God through the Power of NA.

Now back to KP duty. Already have a couple Filet Mignon hickory warm smoking for an hour and a half or so before a ~900f finish reverse sear later. In about another hour will switch from Hickory to Fruitwood to smoke 4 little lobster tails which will be basted with a butter,lemon juice, my Caribbean rub and touch of habanero mixture. Going to brush the Filet Mignon with same mixture after finish sear. Also need to quarter the baby red, yukon & purple taters to oven roast for side. Will mix them up with EVOO coating, sea salt, fresh cracked pepper and as yet to be decided herb(s) before roasting. Debi (my Sous Chef and wif' of 36 years lol) has been assigned doing a Caesar salad. Peach pie will go in the oven after dinner to have warm a' la mode watching a movie later.

It's great to be spending time and money on culinary fun instead of dope!

Nice isn't It? I spent the holidays suffering.... From keys disease!!! Lost track of what day it was! Even made a meeting on vacation. I never dreamed it was possible to find a new way to live....

Mike thanks for the share and the tease man thats a meal for a king, go ez on the salt old timer LOL

Me new years eve stayed home bored as heck feeling sorry for myself that last all of 2 minutes, it is what i make it I coulda done better :)

 

Happy New Year one and all lets make the best of it, no new years resolutions here other then i hope its a good year and I will do what i can to make it so....stay clean sober and push back on father timefurious

Haven't been afflicted with Keys disease yet but often have Island fever, not cured but kept in check by numerous trips to Hawaii. (The term Island fever actually usually refers to those living on the Islands wanting to visit the Mainland) We went twice last year, first time twice in same year. Going again March 1st for 12 days, will only be our 2nd time in Maui but 12th or so Island vacation overall. It took us 20 years married (and me 20 years Clean) to make our first trip and Debi fell in love with the Islands so keep going back.
