Treatment facilities can help initially kick active using but my and many others have found they are NOT the end all be all solution to ongoing Recovery from Active Addiction. Many years ago I successfully graduated a 9 MONTH in-patient therapeutic community program and was told I was "cured" and would be able to solution use like normal people because I now knew how I ticked. Yada yada yada. Suffice it to say a few years later I was worse off than before those 9 months of in-patient treatment.
I stumbled back to the rooms of NA. I attended 2 to 3 meetings a day EVERY day for close to a month before I could not stop using. And then the Miracle happened and the Monkey was lifted from my back. That was November 27, 1980 and I've been Clean the NA Way ever since.

...^^...yes,,the cornerstone of -any- effective recovery.
...I've known many who feel that while treatment is helpful, a solid NA program is essential. I can't think of any who feel the other way. Shullies, while you're waiting for support, you'll get a long way by supporting yourself with a good solid NA program.... I promise!
