Lost a friend

I know I havent been posting much here lately.  Still dealing with the baby and his "illness" (altho he is doing better at the moment)

My friend died on Tuesday.  She was buried today.  Hre name was Shannon and she was 24 years old.  She had 6 months clean.  One of my best friends sponsored her. She died in a car crash almost instantly on her way to her home group....thank God she did not suffer.  Life is so precious and God is so good-all the time.  Even times like this, especially times like this.  She had a 16 year old sister who used to come to meetings with her once in a while.  Ironically, that girl started calling her sisters fiends.  She was supposed to try crack for the first time the day after her sister died....she ended up at a meeting. Thank God.  All things happen for a reason and I dont know what they are.  Gods plan is just too much for me to understand.  All I know is that it is good and he is comforting her family and her friends....taking care of all of us.

In memory of Shannon P.....you are loved and you will be missed. RIP

Danielle,
I am so sorry for your loss. It hurts so much to lose those who we have chosen to share our lives and hopes with. Truely, today is all we have, treasure it. Something I have learned through experience is to never say goodbye to a friend without saying "I love you", even if it seems hard to say now, it may be impossible tomorrow.

Those who have played a special part in our lives never die, they remain within us forever.

Death is a part of being human, the ability to face our own death, or a friends death, with grace and faith is a gift from God.

Lon
