.....good'onya 'lil'!!....reaching out here is good,,,,but meetings,,,,sponsor,,,steps,,,service are all part of a thorough program,,,,,and of course 'alchohol is a drug' too!

....if you make recovery your priority,,,these struggles you're facing will only become easier as time goes.

....one thing I've found is that when I'm feeling a 'struggle'....it's my cue to surrender something,,,,and reach-out to the program.,,,,let go of the big picture when overwhelmed,,just ask 'what's my next right step'?!

......do you know where to find meetings and phone-line in your area?

Hello and Welcome to MIP..

I am an addict named Mike..When WE realized we have been defeated by our drug use(alcohol is a drug)and WE realized our lives have become unmanageable WE put down the substance and the healing can begin.WE always suggest finding a meeting,a place where we can learn more about the physical, mental and spiritual part of our illness,,WE also find that those who value sponsorship get the most out of our program Narcotics Anonymous..WE learn that OUR SOLUTION is in the application of our STEPS,worked with a sponsor and instilled in all areas of our lives.WE decide to do whatever it takes to remain clean ,a day at a time. Here is a link to our website where you can locate a meeting near you and do some reading about our program but again we always suggest face to face meetings where we listen to learn and get into the exact nature of whats going on with us..Our message is HOPE and our promise is FREEDOM ,not a magic bullet, but daily work and not picking up any mind altering ,mood changing substances...Glad you showed up,,take the next best STEP..........smilesmile

Everyone of us struggled until we found Narcotics Anonymous and admitted our way didn't work.  We had to do what millions of others before us had done.  Abstain from the use of all drugs, including alcohol.  We had to develop a new group of people to get to know, associate with, and do things with.  Hanging out on our old playgrounds, with old playmates, always led us back to our old way of life.  Just smoking pot, or just drinking alcohol was allowing our addiction to stay active, in stealth mode.  It is only when we let go of all drugs, and stopped trying to find another substance, such as alcohol to buffer us from life, did we find true freedom from active addiction.  Going to as many meetings as possible in the first 90 days, was key to beginning the change we needed.  Reading NA literature gave us the information we needed, and working the 12 steps with a sponsor gave us the tools we needed.

My name is John and I am a addict.  I hope you will join us here and in face to face meetings regularly.  You do not have to try to do this alone.

John
