Yesterday I would have been out of rehab for a week and I already relapsed. I informed my hubby and though disappointed he was glad I at least was honest. I gave him my meds to take as I really don't trust myself as much as I hate to admit it.
But even worse is the depression that has been worsening each day since returning home that I can't seem to shake. Today I'm at a new low in my sobriety, with no available meetings, or any idea as to what to do to turn this around before the depression gets even worse and leads to me going back to what I was doing and never looking back. I feel like I'm missing something but can't figure out what exactly I'm doing wrong.
...I assume you mean you took doctor meds beyond what's prescribed,,, you 'came back' here,,,so you're doing what you can to keep honest, open, willing!
......it's a big challenge to get clean,,stay clean on your own ...have you tried the south Dakota helpline #?
....maybe contact the rehab?--I'm surprised they don't have an 'aftercare' program---it would seem important to have resources in place by the time you're leaving there,,,,did they make such a suggestion?...if not, maybe it's something for you to suggest to them!
..I can send you good wishes and prayers,,,but the next step is yours!.......all the best!!!

I hear ya with the depression. Throughout my experience every time I get clean my depression worsens. I don't have insurance or money to see a shrink so I understand that.. I also can not seem to shake it but I keep tuggin along everyday doing what I gotta do to stay clean for that minute. Do you have a big book or other material? I suggest you start reading if there are no meetings or anything at this time.

. ......LWin...I hope you're doing allright today,,,that you've found some relief!...I hope you've found someone close to help you in recovery............there's been a lot of good advice given on these pages...perhaps anytime you're feeling overwhelmed you can go through it,,,write some key things down that help you........and most importantly FOLLOW some of it!!---there are addicts -waiting- hoping to have you reach out! ................I'll bet you chose that name because you -know- you're going to WIN this battle!!.......one day,,,one minute at a time ...........rememberyou only have to stay clean for -today-,,,don't overwhelm yourself!
...in this program,,,we eventually learn to pray to a higher power of our own understanding--a -tough- concept for many of us to start with,,,we ALL had to take a first step of surrender,,,faith,,trust.........it's never to soon to start!......eventually we start to see the power of prayer....that our wishes and hopes get answered usually MUCH better than we hoped!.........a simple step could be to step outside,,,breath deep,,look at a tree,,,,and say....''help me get,,stay clean today''
....keep coming back .............let us know how you're doing!
