New here. Introduction. could use some support

Hello, My name is Stacie and I used to be a member of this wonderful group several years ago, and am so glad to have access to a computer again, so I can participate in this group. biggrinI've been bouncing in and out of the program for many years, and am just so tired of it. cryI desire recovery and could use some support. I am disabled, with no transportation to regular meetings, however I do get to f2f meetings occasionally. I sometimes do the NA phone meetings.

I recently had surgery on my knee and foot, which has been very painful, and have been on pain meds since February 11. I'm on my last prescription and am kinda freaking out because I've been abusing them and I dont want to go in withdraw after I run out.

Also, I found out yesterday that one of my friends from the NA phone meetings, who had been clean since 1969, has passed away. cryShe suffocated due to COPD. I lost it when I found out.

So, you see, I'm going thru alot right now. But I'm so glad to be back.

Thanks for listening.

....welcome home Stacy...I'm glad you're reaching out,,,looking for solutions.

...possibly it might be a good idea to open up with your doctor,,,develop a plan to safely taper from the meds---perhaps -much- safer than the alternatives?

...feel free to pm or call me,,,I as  and others may be able to help you through some of those 'moments',,,as we find our way back to living clean and free from drugs,,one day at a time!!

....all the best,,,michael

Hi Stacie , You got a hard road ahead for a while getting off those meds . Losing a good friend in the fellowship can really hurt I have lost a few . We have to us our higher power to get ourselves on the path of recovery again.I also have copd and have to sleep with a cpap breathing device at night . It didn't help all the crap I smoked for 39 years took its toll ,heart surgery twice but I.m glad to be here and just made 9 years clean .Keep trying ,if you need to share I will respond .
