...thanks avid,,,I'm considering offering myself to this service roll,,but have only been on the board a week,,so other than my clean-time of 4 months,,,I have a few questions.....don't fully know what I'm stepping into!.......
....my first question,,,and why I'm asking this publicly,,,is my concern that I would not be available all the time to deal with a spam-storm like yesterday!...in the summer,,it could be up to a week that I could be totally away from internet,,,,,while other times,like yesterday, I'm fairly fully available.,,,
,,,,,your description above ,gives me the feeling that BigV and John are somewhat 'stepped-back' from an active moderator roll?,,,,,if so,,I wonder.....IS THERE ANOTHER PERSON WILLING TO -SHARE- THIS SERVICE ROLL??

I have been really busy with business and don't get here often enough but i'll try and stay closer and online more often now that spammers have been hitting the site, i may even setup email notifications, I can access board from my phone if need be.
I'll shoot john an email him your request let me know as soon as you hear back from him I have his number here some where I'll call if need be.
I have setup my profile with email notifications I think you can do the same, my summers have been crazy with work but i'm home every day, we can just do the best we can to keep board clean.

Honestly i've never been through a bombing episode I have had a few times i had to delete posts and ban IP or users but its been very minimal, as a moderator you can do these things with the push of your finger, its very simple, no stress mikah and maybe we can just leave avid on as a co mod for a bit to .

..yeh,,it's quite an interesting roll to take on....the anonymity of internet,,,yet the intimacy of recovery,,, the responsibility of 'carrying the message',,,,at the same time as perhaps sometimes 'editing' others!!!!
...........not t'mention the occasional(?) spam-bomb,,,just for 'fun'!!!
....this seems best handled by a -panel- of ~2 active mods,,,with a couple of 'old-timer' back-ups!!!
............perhaps there's a gal on the edges here that's ready,willing to step forward,,bring in the ol'gender balance??!

...I'm going to take some time to get to know my way around the place,,and although I have some suggestions of changes of some of the format here,,I'll act in consultation with Vince,Don,,John,,,and the -traditions- of NA as best I can.
..........I'd like to do anything possible to encourage a vibrant conversation of recovery on this board,,,,build something of a community,,, ...if anyone has any suggestions,requests,etc,,,please either post 'em here,,,or send me a PM.

Mikah,
Just to be clear. I am not a co-moderator. My moderator controls have been removed by John at my request.
I was happy to fulfill a service commitment, but that commitment has been satisfied.
I'm glad that you stepped up. You bring energy and fresh ideas that I'm sure will enhance the board and increase participation.
John will be visiting this regularly, and of course Vinny is also actively involved so you are not alone.
