Hi guys, I am not too familiar with the whole NA meeting thing to be honest. My mom attends AA meetings on a regular basis and I have been to a few of those, but never an NA meeting. Here's the deal: I am 17 years old and I will have been completely clean/sober for an entire year on Saturday January 11, which is this saturday. If I go to the meeting (my first one) and announce that I have been clean for exactly a year, will I be asked if I want to take a sobriety chip? I'm just curious. Thanks, everybody.
Congratulations on your clean time! (In NA, we say clean, not clean sober since we consider alcohol to be no different from other drugs.)
How have you managed to do this if you have only been to a few AA meetings and no NA meetings?
I have found that going to NA meetings on a regular basis and working the steps with a sponsor were essential for staying clean.
Hopefully, you'll want to go to more meeting.
NA offers chips or key tags to mark time:
white welcome, beginner
orange 30 days
green 60 days
red 90 days
blue 6 months
yellow 9 months
glow in the dark 1 year
grey 18 months
black 2 or more years
They will offer the chips/key tags to anyone who wants them You don't have to pick one up.
Keep coming back.
You never know what to expect....Many will be happy for you and invite you to pick up keytags.
Others may want to know "how you did it"? without going to meetings.
There are not alot of rules about this sort of thing.
