CHEALSEY, Have you ever attended 12 step meetings, or NA in particular? I see that you said that you had 3 years clean at one time. As far as how to stay clean, it's not that complicated to get started. Find either a local meeting or meetings to attend, listen to others share, talk about what is bothering you today, get phone numbers from other recovering addicts and call them regularly. Eventually you will find someone whose message rings in your head and who has improved their life. I would suggest that you ask this person to sponsor you. A sponsor is kind of like a guide, someone who has been on the path through the woods and is willing to teach the path to you. Read NA literature, and WORK THE STEPS with your sponsor!!! If this seems like a lot of hassle, remember that no matter how overwhelming it seems, it is still easier than the way we used to live!

Lon said it best! Its not magic. Its quite simple (but hard) ---Put it down. Don't pick it up. Get to a meeting. Dont use no matter what. You can do this!!
