The illusion of happiness

I was under the spell of amphetamines for several years.  It took chest pains to snap me out of it.

You see, your nervous system is the result of billions of years of evolution, from the Big Bang up until today.

Your neurotransmitters operate on the principal that an electrochemical signal gets sent from your five senses to your brain where you process the information using time-proven (billions of years, remember) electrochemical combinations.

When you introduce an artificial, retail synthetic electrochemical material into the synapses, you experience things differently. You probably think you're experiencing happiness.

Have you noticed, things are different on the inside, but they remain the same on the outside? That is why, when the chemical effect wears off, the sun still rises in the east and the wind is just a random event passing over you.

At some point every abuser either quits or dies. When you  find yourself repeating behavior patterns and thought patterns that don't hold up when you're clean and sober, you've gone as far as the drug will take you and it's time to quit. Find a new job. Get engaged in a responsible routine and you'll discover true happiness.

Welcome. I think drugs were cool and fun. Then they stopped working. Then I realized drugs were creating problems for me. So, I tried out some NA meetings and I stopped using.

We all were under a spell or delusion that drugs were good for us . One morning I woke up and said I'm going to have a heart attack I think, the next morning it happened , I was at my job ,delivering furnaces , I said my chest is killing me .I was going by the hospital at that moment , pulled in the ER , started honking the horn like mad , they came running out ,I was as white as a ghost , took me in , defib me ,rubbed nitro cream on my chest ,when I stabilizes I was put in ward and told I had a major heart attack .It took me years to stop using but I know now that NA really works .
