Newcomer here

Hello all, I am on day 2 of a cold turkey detox from opiates.  I know the worst is yet to Come but it won't last long.  I am new here to this forum, but not to the fellowship. I had my first meeting 15 years ago,,my longest stretch of clean time was 6 years.    this has been my toughest time coming back, not sure if its cuz I am getting older of different drug of choice or what.  I am just glad to be here.  thanks all for bein here

Anne

Welcome. I've you had some clean time before in the fellowship, you know what you need to do: get to meetings, meetings, and more meetings. And don't use no matter what.

hi Anne.. my name Raman...Im an addict. clean and serene. just for today. in the NA Way. ! I hope your cold-turkey is thining out...hope it's in the passing stage. Better to be under medical supervision in this phase if your recovery. The more addicted i got (smack.etc), the more powerful the withdrawl and therefore greater chances of brain damage. And some of that damage could be permanent. Ive suffered it too...please take care. And then we come to the question "what's next? " Surround yourself with Fellowship and family. If you have numbers...use them. Get help and support. And please remember that " we do recover". Hook your recovery to the Highest Star and let nothing come in between... Meditating on your recovery, and mine too... I cant..but we can... ((((((((((((((Recovery hugs))))))))))))))

I am still here and still detoxing. I am feeling pretty rough today, but I know what lies ahead...I know the rewards I will have by being clean. I always seem to think I have my life under control and stop meetings and not seeing my NA or AA (started there with an alcohol problem, funny cant stand the stuff now ) and then it's only a matter of time. I miss the NA way. Feeling pretty alone right now. I am married but me and my husband are just like roommates. Thanks for listening! I am going to free of this demon soon!

Hard to say.
I urge you to think in terms of 'today'
drink plenty of fluids,
get some sun and fresh air.
Pray.
Eat healthy whole foods, fruit, veggies etc.
And know with absolute certainty that
this will pass.
Peace.
