Hi my name is Samantha, I have been sober off of my DOC since December, 18, 09. However throughout the three years I "occasionally" drank alcohol. And always made excuses and was in denial, because my life was managable unlike it was while on drugs living in Minnesota. I never worked the steps, never had a sponsor, however I got it through my thick addicted skull that I need to start my steps and stop drinking. And unfortunally I realized it after I moved to Thailand, therefore I can't just start going to meetings and find a local sponsor. So if anybody could help me in finding a "virtual" sponsor that would be greatly appreciated! :)
Glad you found us and have started to get more honest with yourself. In-person meetings are an essential part of my recovery: I don't think I could stay clean without them. It is in the meetings that I hear and feel the message of recovery and the experience, strength and hope. Is there no way for you to go to meetings of any sort, NA or if necessary AA?

Not much I admit. But I would make a few calls and see what you can come up with. In the meantime, you can contact me via personal message on this website and I'll help you get started. Good luck to you
Good choice on seeking our solution, the Steps applied in all areas of our lives ,worked with a sponsor. For me there really was no such thing as a Drug of Choice,I suffered from the illness of Addiction,a physical, mental and spiritual sickness that manifested itself in all areas of my life. I am an addict named Mike and I used whatever available to get high even though some substances I preferred..Avid gave you some valuable info and hope you have some success finding what you need.Stop in here and let us know how your doing okay......Have a blessed and productive day..
