Advice and support for a newbie...

Hey guys, Im new to this whole environment, being that I never really would admit that I had a problem.  I began using opiates recreationally about 4 years ago.  As time passed, I just began using more and more. I realized I was spending too much money, but didn't see it as an addiction, so instead of opiates I began using Suboxone and Subutex, convincing myself it wasn't because I was scared of withdrawl, but because it gave me the much needed energy I required for a job I hated.  I quit recently realized that the restauraunt business is nothing but a trigger.  I bought enough suboxone to make it through 10 days or so using a smaller amount each day.  Yesterday I woke up and did the last of it, today I feel bad, and I fear tomorrow worset.  I have roommates and I dont really want them to find out what I've been up to, I know I should, but its just not something im going to do.  I'm prepared with Tylenol, aspirin, benadryl for sleep and runny nose, and immodium, but I don't want to lay around moping for a week while this passes.  Any support and tips would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi and welcome.
The best support you will find will be at a meeting of Narcotics Anonymous.
Go to na.org and follow the links for your local helpline and/or 'find a meeting'
call the helpline to get the most up to date info on where the meetings are.
Depending on the area someone may not be manning the helpline but they will get
back to you..
It's really important to get to a meeting. These first few days are critical.
Introduce yourself and ask for help. It's that simple. Try a few different meetings to
get a feel for the different groups in your area.
I wish you all the luck in the world.
You can do this.
Let us know how you are doing.
