Adderall Help

Hello, new to the forum here.  I will try to be brief in my post:

- I am unable to stop a ravenous addiction to adderall

- I have told nobody and am hesitant to do so

- I am here wondering if anyone has experience with adderall addiction and hopefully some advice on a path to recovery

- Has anyone here been in meetings that included people dealing with adderall addiction?

I am worried that addiction to rx like adderall is not really something that is included in N/A meetings - feeling like an outsider at a meeting is a huge concern for me.

I have no experience with adderall but I know plenty of people in NA who have.
The only requirement for NA membership is a desire to stop using drugs.
We don't focus on any specific drug. You could have a problem with alcohol, marijuana, meth, heroin, crack, whatever...you'd still be welcome.
I can relate to your concerns.
Many years ago, when I joined NA, I thought I would not be accepted because I had never injected drugs, such as heroin or coke.
I thought you had to be an IV-drug user to be in NA.
But I gave it a try and found out that we all have a common problem (addiction) and a common solution (recovery in NA).
I was welcomed with open arms.
I suggest you go to some meetings and give NA a try. You have nothing to lose but your misery.

Hello and Welcome to MIP!

Dave has good suggestions and you can also go to  www.na.org  our website and look at all info about our program,Who is an addict, pamhlets and IP'S(infp pamphlets,etc...There is  near you.also a place to locate an NA meeting in Michigan...As stated only one requirement the "desire" to stop using drugs...WE are not doctors or do not give medical advice but we would suggest if you are under a doctors care to discuss coming off the substance with the medical person also..

Hi and welcome.
I understand your concern about feeling like an outsider.
It took me three tries before I actually found the courage to walk into an NA meeting.
You are not alone.
Our literature clearly states "We are not interested in what, or how much you used..."
And it is absolutely the truth.
At any given NA meeting there will people there who were actively addicted to a variety of drugs.
Many were street drugs like heroin or crack, but more and more people are coming into the rooms
who were/are actiely abusing prescription meds like pain killers, tranquilizers, and stimulants.
You absolutely qualify and will probably not be the only person there with an amphetamine problem.
Going to a NA meeting is absolutely your best chance to break the chains of addiction.
I urge you to go to a few different local meetings, if possible and ask for help.
It can be life changing.

I have experience with that. Use to crush them up and snort them. To me it was like blow. I have heard several people share in meetings, expressing dame sentiments. Do not let the drugs you used separate yourself from others in the rooms. Isolation is major problem for most addicts. We tell ourselves we are different. That's bs. We have so much more in common then you can imagine
