Happy New Year to all !!!

Happy New Year Hugs and wishes to all of you here !!

Its wonderful to be associated with this Forum !!

Be careful though of cakes, desserts, puddings, etc as they may well have been made with a dose of alcohol added for flavour !!

Gee, I had a close shave this evening when I had a hearty meal at this hotel where I played my music.

then to overflow my cup of joy at having had a lovely day,, I went for the dessert.

Now the meal was Lebenese and I took the bowl of sweets and took a chocolate piece first.

then I went onto the dates and the currants ,but a I put it in my mouth, i instinctively spat it all out,, even used a nearby ashtray to rinse my mouth and spit it all out,,, good thing I didnt take anything in.

I noticed a strong flavour,,, and though it may have even beedn vanilla, i didnt take a chance !

I drank black tea instead !!

You know we really need to take care !!

Caring and sharing the NA WAY

Happy New Year to you too Raman, and to all who read this message.

I remember my first year clean, I ate a piece of fruitcake without thinking, then had to call and talk with my sponsor to see if I had screwed up. Personally my New Year's Eve will be spent at my local NA Area's dance @ the United Methodist Church on 61st and Morrill in Lincoln, Nebraska. It is wonderful to know that I am not alone, and to have a safe place to go where many other clean addicts will be hanging out.

Happy New Year to all from Liz K on Long Island.  Thanks for the reminder about hidden alcohol in desserts, etc.  We must be ever vigilant!

Peace to all.
