In Arlington, would like to meet other men or women struggling with opiate abuse...need a mentor.

I'm a forty year old man who needs a mentor to guide me through the process of getting away from opiates and into the NA system. I live in Arlington, near Davis Square in Somerville.

I can share my experience with you if you would like.  And help anyway I can....

The best way to find a mentor (i.e. sponsor) is to go to meetings. You should be able to find them online. Also, here's a meeting locator link: http://portaltools.na.org/portaltools/MeetingLoc/

Taking that giant first step is huge.
I remember the conversations I had with myself for a couple of weeks before deciding to go to a meeting.
then when I did decide to go, I drove right past the church, turned around, and drove past again.
The next time I actually got into the parking lot, before bailing.
I finally drove for 35 minutes and went to a meeting in another town.
That was about 5 years ago, and was the best decision I ever made.
Good luck to you.
