I am going to call World on this, but I just wanted some opinions on "facility rules." We recently had to move our homegroup to another facility due to this disease taking our landlord to the final of the three absolutes stopping active addiction. This facility wants us to read "facility rules." There is not really a debate on reading them, because like my sponser says, if I ask you to take off your shoes and you are a guest in my house, then if you choose not to take off your shoes, then you can leave. The debate is when to read it, when reading it would break traditions, and who should read it. Thanks for all or any inquiries
Why don't you just post the facility rules prominently somewhere? You can mention them briefly in the meeting (i.e please respect the rules of the facility). That way you don't have to disrupt the meeting by reading a bunch of rules.
Thats a good idea...it's amazing several addicts would rather discuss what is traditionally correct and what is not..truly amazing (he said with much sarcasm)...thank you for that.
I have been to meetings in several churches where they had announcements to be read at meetings. They were read during the portion of the meeting introduced as "Are there any announcements for the benefit of NA" Typically they refer to a non smoking policy. Some churches are very strict about no somking anywhere on the campus, including in your car in the parking lot. I have seen meetings close because the church felt dis respected.
Thanks Avid...I am meeting with a pastor today about the "rules and regs" of the church at which we were approved to move our homegroup. So, thank you for that...helps out a lot
