Yes, the holidays are a classic time for depression to set in.
I used to feel it worse than I do now.
Back when I was full of guilt over how I let my family down, the holidays were very difficult for me.
Now, though because I have restored my relationships, it's not so bad.
I still have regrets over losses I have suffered due to my past behaviors,
but I have given myself a break. I truly was ill.
So anyway, things are the way they are and today it's not so bad.
Hope you find some joy Manon.
peace

hEY mANON.........yes my son had one when they first came out ,he would use it everywhere you werent supposed to smoke just to  bust people..He had some success with his. Each year I go to the soup kitchen or Salvation Army or the pantry at church and serve food, share at meetings or hand out food.It always  makes me feel good and I get to see just how blessed and fortunate I am.I know you have hard time getting out and in crowds so I'll pray you find some peace and serenity for this holiday season,it can be a trying time for many.I spent 4 years overseas in the service missing my  1st family, missed many years being blitzed beyond recognition and spent others alone.I am truly grateful for positive time I find now in recovery..Good to hear from ya...Stay blessed.....smile

Glad you are here. I also can feel overwhelmed during the holiday season. I have found it helpful to take some time to relax and de-stress. Going to extra meetings also helps. Hang in there.
