I have been in and out of the program for the last four years. I had one year then recently one year again. I relapsed in April and thought I could manage with justification and since I wasn't doing my drug of choice I continued. Until this last weekend I met up with old friends and ended up doing things which I know are leading me right back to where I left off. I have started to spend my rent money and am sick and tired of my lies and guilt. I want to get back into the program. I'm afraid to tell my family and my friends but I know i need to do something. I'm afraid. Just knowing someone is on the other side helps. I'm feelings emotions right now and it hurts. Man I messed up.
Welcome to MIP,Glad you are able to still show up,many of us don't make it. I am an addict named Mike...Our solution is the program, the Steps applied in the actions and behaviors of our lives, worked with a sponsor to the best of our abilities. As you are aware Our program is for people who want it and will do what it takes to to begin their own recoveries.I can only suggest making a meeting again, seek a sponsor and getting into the "solution".Putting down the substance is just the beginning of the healing process, getting into the exact nature of whats going on and moving toward a change in our attitudes and behaviors is the road to our recoveries,a day at a time.Take a look inside, did you work the process or did you just remain abstinent?(in between)Did you reach out for a sponsor and are you willing to be honest ,openminded and follow suggestions?.Only you can answer this.I,m glad you are reaching out again.WE are addicts and addicts use,but there is another way to live, you have tasted it, Keep coming back here, let us know how your first meeting back went Stay close to people who aren't using .Hope to hear more from you Peace :)

Our purpose is to remain clean, just for today, and to carry the message of recovery.
Welcome. We all have to reach a point where we have suffered enough with our addiction that we are willing to try something different. Don't worry about the relapses you've been through. What matters is whether you want to stay clean today. If you wan't to get clean and stay clean, NA can offer you help. It is a simple program that works only if you work it: Go to meetings, lots of meetings. Get a sponsor and a homegroup. Work the steps. Hang out with other people in recovery (not all using buddies) Develop a relationship with a higher power through prayer and meditation. Get involved in service work.
Welcome to MIP,we are here for you man.I found in my recovery I had to get rid of old using friends, the temptation to use would be to much.Just keep trying, and Keep Coming Back.
