ive heard both sides of weather or not one can get hepc from sex,ive been told from dr that yes u can or will get hepc from sex and no its really hard too,or just no you cant get it.so does anyone here know if one can get hepc from sex,? yes or no??,im female and am concerned about thisd matter.im not got hepc but my b/friend does.ive been checked for it but didnt have it i was soo very happy for that but i was also told that it can take yrs to show up soooo now what.we been together for 6 yrs ,now im scared about this matter could ayone give me some answers thart knows more about it?????....ty,,,,,hug odat
My wife has Hep C. My doctor has told me that the chances of me contracting Hep C from her through sex is approximately 1% for each year we have sex assuming we enjoy a regular sex life. So, after 25 years of regular sexual activity, you are looking at a 25% chance or a one in four chance.
We've spoken with my wifes doctor as well and she concurs with my doctors opinion.

You can get Hep C from sex, but it is a slim chance. There are only four body fluids that can transmit the disease; Blood, breast milk, vaginal secrections, and semen. These Infected fluids have to enter the blood stream of a non-infected person in order for them to get the disease. So, in example, The only way a female can contract Hep C through sexual intercourse is if she has a tear or something around her vagina, or inside the vaginal canal and the infected semen enters the blood stream. HIV is passed the exact same ways. This is why these two deseases are more common with gay men. The rectum tears easier, resulting in an open wound... Hope this helps...
