Sharing a few thoughts!

I taking a moment to look at the life story Ive created for myself on an ongoing basis. When I am feeling peaceful about the past, this gives me self-confidence and trust in in my ability to handle whatever comes my way. I feel Higher Powered. Im looking at circumstances through the 12 Step framework, and this attitude serves me well. On the other hand, when i begin to isolate, the disease gradullally begins to take over my thinking and that in turn affects my feelings. I begin to retain a lot of guilt or resentment and often feel weighed down by life. I want to start telling myself a new version of past and present events. No matter who the characters are in my story or what they have done, Im the only one who can give their actions meanings. Basically, Im the only one who can define what role I will play in my own life. This is the partnership betweeen me, God, Fellowship, famiky, friends, associates and significants. By taking responsibility for my story, Im able to learn and grow, forgive and find compassion, and most importantly, move on into a brighter future. Thanks for letting me share!

And im saying....
for me, guilt directed towards others is the resentment route..

And why is recognition, addressing and resolving of resentment so important?
Because it finishes off more addicts than anything else.
Resentments, or the reliving of past experiences again and again in the mind,
is the surest sign that the disease is in progress.

Thats why the 10th Step has become the underpinning of my recovery,
and that has happened after the previous 9 Steps....

Forgiveness is the key to spiritual fulfillment.
Forgive everyone, everything.
Then forgive yourself.

Forgive and forget and forgive to forget!

God help me change the things I cannot stand,
and stand the things I cannot change! !!!
