5 years today! Thanks to all of those who listen to my ranting and raving, accept me for who I am (character defects and all) and have shown me a new way to live! I am truly grateful! I love the program of Narcotics Anonymous. It not only saved my life, it GAVE ME A LIFE! :)
I entered this program, not knowing if this was the right place: I didn't have to serve time, I didn't have any kids to be taken away from me, I didn't have any real dire consequences hanging over my head or someone telling me to quit, and I never explored any other drugs other than alcohol, pot, and mushrooms. I came in because I'd lost something even greater than that: myself.
I was told that it didn't matter what I used or how much I used. That was freeing. I had a hard time identifying with other addicts who used "hard" drugs, as I'd never really been there. I realized that the focus of NA is on the disease of addiction and we focus primarily on RECOVERY in our meetings... boy did I feel that sense of unity!
I've come quite a way in my first 5 years. I'm excited to see what happens over the next!
Beautiful Amanda,,nice to open up and see another positive message of hope and "LIFE" this morning.Congrats, thanks for continuing to help support each of us..Peace.
