not a good answer?

why is "because I'm an addict"not a good enough answer for me for some of the things I do? I do things to people i love that i never thought I would do. I still my husbands pain pills so I dont get sick knowing full well that he will run out and get sick himself. I alway tell myself that "this is the last one" but it never is. I have been through withdraw a few times befor so I know I will live through it. If anyone has a thoiught on this,I thank you.

If you're an addict, and only you can answer that, NA can help you get and stay Clean and find a better way of life. IF you want it and are willing to make the effort to get it.

The rest is mental masterbation.

Hello and Welcome to MIP!

WE learn as we work our process thru the Steps, make meetings and trust in a Power greater than ourselves ,that we suffer from a physical, mental and spiritual illness that manifest itself in all areas of our lives. and WE begin our journey by first putting down the substance and begin,to find out who we are and that WE address each part of our illness through the work we do,a day at a time. Many of us were sick long before we picked up our first drug.Narcotics Anonymous is a program for those who want to find a better way to live, our message is hope and our promise is freedom, not a magic bullet ,takes some work, but truly a life better than any you have known based on the evidence.Glad to meet you ,keep coming back okay.WE are here for each other,no big  I's or little U's ,one helping another in a loving and caring manner....Peacesmile

Addiction is a disease of dishonesty. We lie to ourselves and to others about how our drugs use is causing destruction in our lives. When you are ready to get honest with yourself, NA will be there for you. Try going to a meeting. All you've got to loose is your misery.

When you look at yourself honestly do you see somene who's life is controlled by drugs?
Taking that first step is huge, but it is essential if one is to get better.
Peace.

One good oldtimer shared this to me when I was new "the more you associate everything that is wrong in your life to your disease of addiction, the more you can tap into the program and make use of the tools as the solution to your problems." This worked out well for me, still does, to just connect as much as I could whatever doesn't sit right in my life and within to my disease of addiction. The more I do this, the more solution-based Program suggestions I get access to.
