If you want what we have to offer, and are willing to make the effort to get it, then you are ready to take certain steps. These are the principles that made our recovery possible:
1. We admitted that we were powerless over our addiction, that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him
4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11. We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Work the Steps or Die MF. (My Friend :) Clean One Day At a Time by The Grace of God through The Power of NA
Most people don't rely on using to give them energy. Using usually gets worse and worse. One reason why using escalates downwards is because people "love" the way using feels. That's how it traps us. Then, it slams our face into the ground like the fake friend that it is.
If you need energy; (1) Stop using & work the program; (2) Get enough rest; (3) Exercise for 20 to 30 minutes a day; (4) Eat right.
It takes time, so take it easy, little by little wins the game. The energy of being clean and really progressing and developing in life is so much better than using. No comparison. Being clean opens up lots of better opportunties. For example, most places nowadays won't even hire applicants if they can't pass a drug test.
I made a phone call last night to my brothers sponser and really liked what he had to say.I'm going to a meeting today no matter what my husband has to say about it!Yea for me.I feel happer all ready.I'm moving in the right direction.
I'm glad to hear you're going in the right direction Sueb! As mentioned, if you're playing the energy game the trap is set and you'll never see it and never realize you've been caught! Prayers and hugs, kd
