This has been a dark day for us.

My younger brother is battling for life. He had too much to drink yesterday, and while walking back home, he collapsed.

We attended on him and brought him home. I then phoned some doctor friends and they advised immediate hospitalization. I conveyed this to his wife who did not act on it till this morning. She was saying how this had happened before and that he would come out of it.

This afternoon, the neurosurgeon informs me that he should have been brought in immediately.

He explained, through scan photos, that my kid bro had had a heaemorrage. But because the bleeding was not stopped through medical attention, the blood had entered the ventricle. 

So they operated on him, 6 hours in all. Then the doc shows the x-rays before and after. The clotted blood has been cleared, but the blood in the ventricle is still there, hopefully it will resolve. 

As of now, we do not know till tomorrow morning whether he will survive, and if indeed he does, then to what extent the stroke did damage......

Ive been calling on NA and AA members, and  trying to be helpful and be there for my brother.

Thats why this is called a chronic illness, resulting in jails, institutions and death if not arrested....
