Support for families?

I'm new.  My husband is on prescription narcotics due to abdominal surgeries.  A physician friend told me that some of his behaviors indicate that he is addicted.  Is there a forum or chat room for family members?

Hi Grace,
This disease can be insidious at times, as can be prescription narcotics. There is a support group for families of addicts called Nar-Anon, similar to Al-Anon for alcoholics. You can google it. If you want to touch base with some Al-Anon folks, go to the MIP home page, there is a link that will take you there. You cannot make the decision for your husband of whether or not he is addicted, he has to do that for himself. And if he decides he is addicted, he then has to decide if he wants to do something about it. You can however, take care of you, and should. Nar-Anon would be the place to learn how to do that. Good luck. Peace.
