A Day At A Time January 6, 2012 Reflection For The Day
When I finally convince myself to let go of a problem that's been tearing me apart -- when I take the action to set aside my will and let God handle the problem -- my torment subsides immediately. If I continue to stay out of my own way, then solutions begin to unfold and reveal themselves. More and more, I'm coming to accept the limitations of my human understanding and power. More and more, I'm learning to let go and trust my Higher Power for the answers and the help. Do I keep in the forefront of my mind the fact that only God is all-wise and all-powerful?
Today I Pray
If I come across a stumbling-block, may I learn to step out of the way and let God remove it. May I realize my human limitations at problem-solving, since I can never begin to predict God's solutions until I see them happening. May I know that whatever answer I come to, God may have a better one.
Today I Will Remember
God has a better answer.

Thank you Metiation Man! I have had diffiiculties lately as I hav been bed ridden from medical problems and unable to attend meetings. I am grateful to have found this forum and post. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this medidation, Meditation Man!
Yesterday was my first day back in the program, and I didn't have a basic text to read yet. The only NA literature that I had on me when a perfect time to meditate presented itself was my brand new, white key ring, so I meditated on that. As I turned it over, some thoughts came to me which I would like to share here.
If my life were a car, I would have to admit that I'm a really terrible driver. I've put bad fuel in the tank (associating with other sick people). I've had multiple wrecks, and I can't even park the thing straight!
I have seen the smooth rides of other cars that God is driving. They hit some of the same bumps that I have encountered, but God is such an amazing driver that they hardly seem affected. God puts the best fuel in the tank, with exactly the octane rating that the particular car needs on a given day. The garages that they park in even look cleaner and nicer than mine!
I want what they have.
So, if God is going to drive my car, first of all I have to hand Him the key.
The key is the program of N.A. Through meetings, N.A. literature, and my sponsor, God is going to drive my car much better than I ever could on my own.
The fuel is important, too. The fellowship with members of N.A. are what makes the car go. Bad fuel makes it break down, good fuel makes it run and run and run and run. I know that God will only put the best fuel in my precious car, because He's such an awesome driver!
