some people irritate the crap out of me....

i really get irritated when someone comes into the rooms and thinks they need to change a program that has been working for those of us who really work an honest program.  when they have an attitude that they need to fix the program for others because they arent working their own program.  i guess i just worked this out in my own head when i just wrote it out.  i run my own program and i wish others would stick to their own and leave well enough alone.  if i hadnt taken the suggestions that were given to me to follow as they were given me and seen what gifts i get for doing just that then i might try to change everything to fit my own way to do it.  so to you that has a better way then for a program then the one that is working for me and others if this one doesnt fit you maybe you should open your own recovery program...because you arent working this one the way its suggested.  i work mine and let others get theres as well.  quit being so irritating and try shutting your mouth you might just get to hear something other then your own voice.  sorry everybody i just had to vent some feelings of my own.  OK im better now!  and i speak only for me  thanks!doh

It helps me to focus on keeping my side of the street clean and to try not to worry too much about other people's garbage.
Keep coming back!

Iv heard it say in meetings that this is an "I" program.

And ive always had difficulty with difficult people.
Nowadays, I avoid them in the meeting after meeting.

I avoid people that are bein mischievous about NA.

Yes tolerence, patience and keeping it spiritual is at times very difficult.I used to roll my eyes and think"oh no ,not this again,so I have to work even harder at times......We are a rough mixture of people from all avenues of life and put together in a room, Truly a miracle that FOR THE MOST PART WE CAN SHARE RECOVERY.....Sometimes if things get to botherin me too bad I have to take a look inside.I certainly try not to feed into any junk and work exceptionally hard to seek the spiritual aspect of all going on,a daily task some days much more trying then others. Thanks for sharing thats how we take part in our own recoveries!!!!Have a blessed and productive day!smile

"We found that we had no choice except to completely change our old ways of thinking or go back to using"
Some people have yet to discover this truth.
they cling to the illusion of control or 'being right'
Surrender is a liberating experience. Letting go of 'my rights' and embracing a power greater than myself
has taken the weight of the world off of my back, given me back some joy and happiness.
I have greater peace of mind than I have ever known.
I would rather be happy then right.

I hear ya. I was talking to another addict about their local meetings last night. They have a few "newbies" that are practically groping each other at the meetings. "What do we do?! It's irritating and disruptive!"

I reminded her not to explode at the meeting and to calmly approach them after the meeting in a way that she would appreciate being approached. The best mode of action for me is to stop, consult my sponsor, pray a while, confront if necessary, and let the rest go.

When people have told me that I'm working my program incorrectly, I tend to get really defensive. I've learned that even though the critic is a real a-hold, there may be some truth in what they're saying. Over time I've learned to stop putting up my defenses, listen to what they are saying (the message, not the messenger), then keep what I want and leave the rest. If what they're saying can help me, great. If not, I politely remind them that we all work different programs. What works for me might not work for you.

Control freaks and their unsolicited advice. Gotta love 'em... (not that I EVER do that... hehehehe)
