I have been using Buprenorphine (4,8mg/day) for a year now after being on high doses of Oxycontin for approx. 5 years. Although I feel better & do more than I did before, I'm still not "living" life. I seclude myself in my house & I'm behind in bills. I don't know if I need to get off all the med's or if I just need help to start living again. I don't know where to begin, but what I'm doing isn't working.
HI and welcome. Well, coming here and asking for help is a start. Next thing would be to go to a meeting of narcotics anonymous. Go to na.org and follow the links for finding a meeting. then go, and ask for help...it's that simple. Good luck to you and let us know how you're doing.
Hi Hanna, Welcome. My name's Mike, I'm an addict. NA is a fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We meet regularly to help each other stay Clean. NA is program based on a set of principles written so simply we can follow in our daily lives. The most important thing about them is that they work.
Are you an addict? Only you can answer that question. Who is an addict? Most of us don't have to think twice about this question, we know. We used to live and lived to use. One is too many and a thousand never enough. We suffer from the disease of addiction from which there is no known cure. However active addiction can be arrested and Recovery is then possible.
If your way isn't working, maybe NA will. Go to some NA Meetings and listen for similarities. If you find we have what you want Keep Coming Back. Many thousands of addicts are Clean today and living better more fulfilled lives thanks to the NA Program.
