Good morning and blessings of this day!

As speaker last night at a new meeting in Beacon New York ,about 25 miles from where I live,I was able to share my ESH and how by the guidance of the God of my understanding, the understanding and application of our solution, the steps(worked with a sponsor)I am  able to continually re enforce taking part in my own recovery and give back what was so freely given to me.....   I know for me, with over 52 years of my 64 years of life, either in  active addiction(25) or recovery and freedom from the physical part of our illness(drug use)(26.9)(I still show up to work on the mental ,emotional and spiritual part of our illness,) I at times get weary and feel like just stepping away from the picture.. I KNOW THATS REALLY THE TIME TO DIG IN ,WHEN THE MONSTER IS LURKING WHISPERING ,IN MY HEAD!  I have shared his before ,but two of my favorite writings in our text both come from Recovery/Relapse'Complaceny is the enemy of those with substantial clean time,if we are complacent too long the recovery process then ceases. And..The progression of recovery is a continuos uphill journey and without effort we start our slide down that hill again,but the progression of the disease is "ongoing" even during abstinence"Its like someone knew me( BASIC TEXT ,a book written  about addicts ,by addicts, for addicts ,our predecessors)yup! Anyway ,just wanted to say "if your new here or just coming around, give yourself a break,identify with the feelings of  YOUR addiction,dont compare, keep showing up,remember we are also told that we can probably GET clean just by making meetings, but why miss the full benefits of our program and

 STAYING clean  by not taking part in your own recovery,(Welcome to NA) giving back to the best of your ability and finding that "new way to live" it is available for all of us,a day at a time,a daily reprieve ,based on a fit spiritual conditon,gained thru the guidance of the Higher Power in your life and the application of the spiritual principles in your actions,attitudes and behaviors. Would you join a swimming team and then not go in the water??  :) Yes it was truly God who allowed me to make that decison to live on that day, awhile ago,  an emotional acceptance of utter defeat ,oh so many cups of coffee ago(at times its seems like yesterday)but NA has definitely shown me that new way of life.
