Hi, my name is Pau and I'm a recovering addict...My drug of choice was prescription meds, specifically Benzodiazepines. I was in Recovery back in 2007 but then I relapsed after a few months and the aftermath was Prison. I have been under the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice since 2008.
I was recently paroled back in May of this year through the grace of God. My sobriety date is Sept. 16, 2010. Even during my incarceration I was still using on/off (when I got the chance), until September of last year when I decided to give it all up and give it to God. I got tired of being sick and tired. This has been the longest I've been sober since the first time I used. Thank you for listening
Sponsor, steps, meetings, service, trust God thats how simple it is oh and dont use in between.
If it gets painful get to a meeting or call your sponsor or a clean friend, takes effort, takes continued desire.
Sometimes we lose the desire because the compulsion kicks in if you use the obsession kicks in and your done, back to jail/prison do the whole thing over and over a few times gets real tiring I know,,, been there done it for years and got willing thru that experience.
Welcome to MIP! Congratulations on getting and "staying" clean. Complaceny is one of our biggest enemies so I can also only suggest getting connected ,follow suggestions written here and help others with a clear message of recovery by remaining God centered(of your understanding)and living your life according to the spiritual principles Narcotics Anonmous teaches us applied daily in "all our affairs".Keep coming back,WE need you..!
