Just wanted to share a little bit about what's going on - the good and the bad.
I'm working my 8th step. First time for me. 4 years clean, a few 4th and 5th steps but nothing past step 7 yet. Needless to say, my list is a monstrosity.
I have a sponsee that just emailed me, basically telling me she's "terminally unique" and not coming back to NA. I'm bummed. She was really cool... but she's got her 90 day keytag and is all better now... I'll keep praying for her. :)
I'm flying to LA tomorrow. Gonna harass the good folks at the WSO Friday while the hubby is in training classes. Can't wait!!! Any ideas of which meetings to hit up while I'm out there?
My husband just applied for a transfer from where we're at now (Southwestern MN) to the Portland, OR area (where I was born). I certainly hope this is in our HP's plans, but you never know...
Day 7 of no nicotine. No patch, no cigarettes, no nothing. It's going surprisingly well. The first day was a little rough, but after that it was fine. Go-figure.
I've been working as a receptionist for the last 3 years (longest time at a single job... ever), but it's completely out of the area I'd like to be in. Yesterday there was a sales person I've known for quite a while in the office chatting with me. His words: "you're killing your soul staying here. Follow your heart."
I have a degree in music, but haven't used it since I've been in recovery. Pre-recovery, I had a really fun job working as a band instrument repair technician - didn't make squat but I loved the work. I taught piano lessons in the evenings to help make up for the low wages. It was the dream-job for anyone with only a BA and no teaching license.
With the possibility of a move and the availability of more education, I'm getting really excited. Not sure what I'm going to do yet, but it's exciting having some options!
Thanks for sharing. Bummer about your sponsee but oh well, you're sticking around!
Yup, we can do anything we choose as long as we stay Clean. Not only Lost Dreams Awaken, paths and dreams we never dreamed of open to us. Life and Recovery is a wonderful Journey when the fog clears!

Thanks so much for sharing! My continued presence on the forum this week is being confirmed every day with every post I read! With my HP at my side, I recently submitted my resignation from a better, higher paying job in health care to return to my first love of academic administration and I start on Monday. I'm going to have to tutor on the side to replace the $300+ I'm dropping bi-weekly but Ohhh Babby I derive such pleasure, peace and satisfaction!
pray my friend kd
