I have been attending meetings for almost a month now. I don't speak I listen, this month is a very emotional month for me. 8/2/03 my son died 8/2/03 my daughter went to prison for manslaughter of my son,8/12 is her birthday 8/23 is his birthday, last yr I was in a car accident that left me with a crushed neck ihad to have surgery I've been in a neck brace for over a yr then on the 12th of this month my dr. release me now I have no job & no income. I haven't used in almost 2 yrs but today was kind of over whelming for me I just needed to talk to someone. I'll Try again later.
Tjanks for introducing yourself. I'm not quite clear on your situation. You say you haven't used drugs in almost two years but you've only been going to meeting for a month. How did you manage to stay clean without going to meetings? What prompted you to start going to meetings (a good idea). Keep coming back.
I use to use about 20 years ago I quit without the program then I fell in lust with a young man that was using 20 years later I didn't know he was using but to keep him with me I started using to impress him but again it wasn't for me so I quit him and quit the drugs. My sister's been in NA for 7 years so I decided to go to a meeting with her. I enjoyed it so I've been going since last month. But I want to learn the 12 steps, traditions & principals and the only way I can help others is to learn these things but I need help first. So I'm there
