spouse of dependent on benzodiazipines

no I am scared as everything we read says the withdrawal from these substances is a long drug out process and I am not sure I can go through it all. Addict is looking at all the negativity and I see no hope.  I do not know what to do.

I just sent you a Forum to check out so you can learn the tools you'll need to work with this situation(for you)The addict will have to come to a conclusion of emotonal acceptance of utter defeat and be willing to do whatever it takes to get clean. There is help available but only he can make the choice to get the help .We are here one addict helping another with suggestions on how  to find a "new way to live" a day at a time. through our program of Narcotics Anonymous ,the doors are open........Have faith, know you didnt cause it,you can't control it and you can't cure it.(see your in box okay)Withdrawl is difficult but the devastation of a life of active drug use is worse, believe me from experience I say this..Believe me it will get better each day ,get some medical help many clinics will take you in on sliding scale if your broke,be careful with all the outside info you read get someone medical and knowlegeable to help ..let us know how its going okay!!If you have a Higher Power ,reach out .i will also keep you in prayer...

Hello and welcome.
For the addict the pains of withdrawl are a fact of life.
but the pain of addiction is far worse.
We are here to help the addict.
May I suggest you google Nar-anon and Al-anon.
Follow the links to find meetings in your area.
It is important for you to realize that you are powerless over the addict, but have resources of your own
These folks can be a tremendous help.
Wishing you all the best.
