Its been a bad day

It has been 5 years 10 months and 20 days since I stopped using heroin. Honestly, the hardest thing I have ever accomplished. Dealing with all the terrible decisions that I made during the time I was using has been a difficult to say the least but now those choices are having an impact on my daughter and this is the single worst day I have had since I have been clean. UGH!!! God help me cause its gonna be a long night

Welcome to the forum. A day Clean is a day Won, no matter how bad circumstances may seem. Don't know about you but the God of my understanding won't give me more than I can handle. Keep coming back.

Welcome to MIP!

After 25 years of devastation to myself and others around me I thought getting clean was the hardest thing I had ever done. It wasn't until my 17 year old son, now 25,  starting using heroin, ended up close to death from  anaphalatic shock from bad cut in his dope, jails, institutions ,Intensive care units and robberies and the criminal life that follows trying to get that next one did I realize how broken I once again had become(20 years into my own recovery). My recovery was totally shaken, but  I knew using would not do anything but reinstitute even more pain .Glad you stopped in,we are here for each other, sharing our pain with each other is the therapy that helps us get through the trials and oh yeah there will be more pain but we have learned through God's grace and mercy that using just makes it worse. Our message is hope and the promise of freedom from active addiction. I am also an active member of Nar-Anon(no implied endorsement) but it has also helped me deal with co-dependance issues and letting go and letting my Higher Power be in "care of".Though I know all the situations from my own addiction, we still may think we can "save " others.(keep it on me)You can make direct amends by living your life in a GOD CENTERED MANNER,PRACTICING SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLES and living your life ,free and clean ,to the best of your ability. We also have to learn how even as addicts in recovery ,we may still enable others, especially ones we love, which we know just stops the healing process from beginning..Let us know how its going okay..Are you attending any meetings or have your own sponsor?...peace  smile

Welcome. Whatever the situation is, using will only make it worse. Don't use and go to meetings. Peace to you.
