I remember about 10 years ago I was away on a Mens Retreat In Lancaster Pennyslvania and part of our morning meditations were before breakfast(that was 7;00 a.m.) to find a quiet place and get with God(of my understanding)  for at least half an hour. It was summer and I was in training for a fall Marathon so each morning I would run up this amazing hill about 1/4 of a mile there  and 1/4 mile up and I mean up, and sit overlooking the landscape of beautiful rolling hills, mountains,very few houses and the sky meeting the earth.As I would start to pray I would get stopped and in awed silence in the presence of divine beauty my prayers were deeper than any sung words or rote sayings in my mind could come up with..Viewing the majesty of God's handiwork! Some days when life is running at  the excelerated speed of light, I have to remind myself to take time,to run that mountain again,even if it is only in my mind, remain in that awed presence and truly know that as I work hard each day to be all that God intended me to be,I will have to take that 30 minutes of silence ,my spiritual writings talk about. When I want to rip your head off because Im back in the pit of our disease, self centeredness, or I want to carry news about you thats not going to lift you or me up, I thank our process of recovery,Narcotics Anonymous ,its God guided ways and its spiritual principles the tools of our lives that help me approach situations in a better way,to the best of my ability.....Today I will pay special attention to the supernatural beauty I am graced to behold.....Have a blessed and productive day!
