Back when I first detoxed in August I had dreams every night for two weeks. Those dreams always entailed me trying to find pills and if I did find the pills in the dream, even if I pulled them up into the needle, I would always wake up before I got the needle in my arm. Well, I was five months clean on the 20th and now I'm having dreams where I actually shoot the dope up but then I feel absolutely NOTHING. I just think it's kinda weird. Any body have experience with these kinds of dreams. Any opinions on what they might mean?
On another note, last night I went to my first in person meeting. Too nervouse to do anything but introduce myself but at least I went inside this time. That's a step in the right direction.
Yeah, I know that drug dreams are pretty normal for recovering addicts. What I find strange about the new dreams is that I go through the whole process and then I don't get high. Maybe feeling nothing is my subconscience trying to tell me that no high is ever gonna be good enough so it's not worth it. I dunno.
Hey, when I first got to this program I would have the dreams all the time...... I even would wake up and wonder if I need a white key tag..... and still 3.5 years later every so often I will dream about using.... but today it is more manageable. They do not control me as much as they used to... and hopefully one day they will totally be gone........

When I am stressing out I have vivid using dreams.
Its alway sucks, I cant get high i'm smokin that crack pipe like crazy fighting with people and monsters for the dope, all kinds of weird shit going on LOL.
And I realized this year that it happens for a good reason, its a reminder of the madness I go thru when i'm using, I can never get enoughm can't get high enough, fighting for a hit, hiding from everyone tweaken, it's crazy and my dreams remind me of that.
Cause anytime we want all that nightmare back just take a hit or slam a dose and its all back, just dont take the first one and you dont have to stop again.
It's sort of weird I remember having dope dreams in the past but honestly don't remember when I had the last one it was so long ago. Can't say that I miss them, hadn't thought about it in years. So yeah for this addict, the dope dreams fade away.

I still have using dreams every now and then after 26 years clean. It's just part of being an addict. The important thing is it is only a dream, and I am grateful to wake up clean. Glad you made it to your first meeting--keep on going!
I just recently relapsed, but ive had these dreams like crazy. They come every night and when i take naps its just weird, and in mine i allways get the drugs and shoot them up, then i get extreamly high in them. Im way to high, cant do anything so i get caught some how everytime and everytime im standing intake to go back in jail. It scares the living crap out of me. i guess the dreams just show me how miserable it is out there using, how much i dont want to be there, and im greatful im not. Oh and ive been going to meeting in person for quite some time now, i think their great. Everyone welcomes you in open arms they are glad to see you :) you can meet a lot of new people and learn a lot. :D
i been having dreams like that im just about to hit the pipe then i wake up.its weird ive been clean almost 6 months. there was a time when i hit the pipe in my dream i still havent figured out what those dreams mean but if anyone finds out let me know just stay strong.
