public service worker needs help getting off suboxone!

Hi,
I have been clean from suboxone for three weeks now. My husband tho is still on suboxone and is having a real tough time getting off. He works with the public five days a week, and at this time of year business is sometimes non-exsistant. He wants to get off the suboxone, but cannot afford financially to take th time off to do so. He can not be going through withdrawls while dealing closely with the public. He is on 1/4 of an 8mg. tab about every two or three days. When he thinks he's going to make it, his muscles cramp up very very bad. The pain is so bad that he has to take suboxone. I know that is his brain & body's way of getting the suboxone. Eight days after going off suboxone, it is out of the system. After that we deal with the brain that has been continually fed this opiate on a daily basis for some time and has become accustomed to it. The natural endorphins in the brain lay dormant because they are no longer needed, as any opiate taken takes over. There is no euphoria or high from suboxone, but it keeps us well until we can get off. Once the opiate has been taken away, the brain goes on high alert and goes in every which direction using whatever it can to get what it is use to. If anyone has any experience with suboxone and how a working person can get off, please reply to this. My husband suggested that I write this asking for any help we can get. Thanks!

I have no experience to offer but I did want you to know that i welcome you to this board.
Going to NA meetings and sharing your story will always bring results. This has come up before here and I have heard it shared at meetings.
No doubt people in the rooms have gone through exactly what you and your husband are going through and will be able to share their story and point you in the direction of local resources.
thanks for sharing and please, keep coming back.
