Hi, I'm an addict and my drug of choice is whatever gets me off. For 18 months I have been going to AA (no NA in my area) and have been clean/sober for oh hey...7 months yesterday!
Anyway, after attending outpatient group I saw the HUGE need for NA in my area and am starting a group. Our first meeting is Feb 1st.
Anyway, that's not what my post is about. It's about NA Basic Text. Wow.
In addition to the start-up kit I also ordered one copy each of "It Works - how & why", "Just for today" and Basic Text. I have been reading, highlighting and studying NA:BT for a week now and I am blown away.
The explanation of the 12 Steps is so personal and real! The "Our Members Share" section is riveting! I am filled with gartitude. I am in awe of the miracle my HP set up for me when the idea of starting an NA group was planted in the grey-dirt of my brain.
Hey Robb! really good to have you here,we do share an all inclusive process in working our program.We do suffer from the disease of "addiction" mental,physical and spiritual illness that manifests itself in "all ' areas of our lives. This concept is not highly regarded elsewhere but we are each responsible for how we work our recoveries Yes STEP WORK is still the solution and we do not work them in any rushed amount of time,some take years,but they are not something that are written on the board and we look at,we incorporate them in our lives and work them by our actions, in our area (upstate new york)newcomers sometimes are told that there first year is a gift,to listen to learn and keep showing up!!Stick around man,we need you...Excellent work on carrying the message by starting a new meeting ,awesome....you are home.........

Hey Aquadude--I think those of us who are engaged in both NA and AA are extremely fortunate. Talk about having the best of both worlds, so to speak! It's a double-dose of what keeps us going.
