New here...wanted to introduce myself

I'm Annie, 27 years old.  I was using roxies and xanax for 4 years daily.  I'd also use meth or coke whenever i got my hands on it.  I'm recently out of jail(first time and hopefully last).  I've been sober since Aug 19th 2010, the day I was arrested.  Doing okay with cravings but having a hard time confronting all the messed up stuff I did when I was using.  Especially the things I did to hurt the people I loved most. Having a hard time forgiving myself.

That's my story.  Hi.

Welcome,
I'm new here, too. I've 12-Stepped in AA. Steps 4-9 felt painful and good at the same time...like tattoos smile.gif
They are the steps that helped me "clean up my spiritual house".

Peace,
Rob

Welcome.
I totally understand feelings of guilt and shame. They along with self hatred were my daily companions.
Then my higher power led me to the rooms of Narcotics Anonymous where I found a great sponsor to guide me through the steps.
It changed my life.

Welcome. I will pray for your shame to be released. I too know shame, for years. Someone told me that living in a place of shame will keep you sick. I relapsed because I felt so ashamed which only deepened my shame. I have mostly been able to let my shame go. It really serves no good purpose. Good Luck and Godspeed.
