If you want to stop using, NA has helped countless addicts stay Clean one day at a time.

Go to 90 NA meetings in 90 days and you will be well on your way to a better way of life.

Yes, try going to some NA meetings. You will find people there who can relate to your situation and have some experience, strength, and hope.

Best advice I can give? It's already been said. Go to the NA meetings... I hated my first meeting - absolutely hated it. But it's not about LIKING the meetings. Hell, half the people in meetings are forced to be there by someone other than themselves. The difference is, open your heart, your mind, your spirit... and just maybe, the next meeting you go to, you'll LOVE. One day at a time, but get yourself to a meeting. The support is indescribable.

Hi,
I am also a young recovering addict.
Firsty well done on leaving the treatment centre cause of the girls sneaking drugs in. In retrospect do you think this was a good idea?? Meetings are the way to go... Its hard getting your foot in the door of your first but trust me you will be welcomed and once the other members hear you are a newcomer you will feel instantly at ease. Recovery is difficult at times but its so so worth it and lets face it, if it was easy it would already be done.

I wish you well on your journey and keep comin back!!

Let us know how your getting on -x-

mags, you're so right... say the word "newcomer" at a meeting, and people line up to meet you... it's amazing... and congrats to you on your recovery too!

I'm glad you found us.
The young people in the program have it very hard. Drugs will show up.
The young people who I see making it are the ones who were willing to break off old friendships and begin making new friends in the fellowship. this too is risky, because when one relapses they will try to take you with them, but surrounding yourself with clean recovering addicts and working the program with a good sponsor is, imho, your best shot. Please keep coming around and let us know how you are doing.

Welcome - As our literature says - any addict can get clean - and that means you also - our predecesors that came before us have gave us an outline for living - and its thru working the 12 Steps of NA - We also suggest, get a sponsor, go to meetings, and don't pick up - then you will be well on your way..Not using is huge - I believe you can continue 1 day at a time..Again glad you are here

Hello everybody! I am trying to start my clean date tomorrow. I have been to rehab twice. The rehab i went to those times were a 12 steps based program. I am aware of how the 12 steps works.. But when i get into the NA meetings i just cant seem to speak.. and i feel like i am going to need to step up and talk about what im going through to make it through this. Does anyone have any advice on how i should speak up and get my voice heard?
