not sure how to feel

I guess when you lack social skills every day tasks seem to be a little more overwhelming  I spent most my time as a teen in a behavioral health centers so I do lack in common sense in many areas I get frustrated at my mom cause lack of understanding she thinks I am stupid Iremind her I am not stupid just Crazy ;)
but she seems to think I a\can't handle everyday life at times more so than not I do get confused but i continue to stand up and wipe my ass off re mount the horse and on I go.
Lots of ppl have the holiday bluse where I have the anxiety that goes with it times hundred i just can't imagine being round all those ppl
it was pointed out that this seems to come and go that it might b one of my alters I can't think of one so scared

HI Manon.
I think that anything negative in our lives gets magnified during the holidays.
I know that it is true for me.
I've been blessed this year because I for the first time in many many years I don't have the holiday blues.
I thank the NA program for bringing me some peace of mind.
Working the steps with my sponsor and having a recovery friend that I can speak to about anything have really helped me let go of the fear and anger that controlled my life for so long.
I pray that you find some relief.

A lot of people I know go to more meeting over the holidays to help them deal with life. Going to meetings helps me get out of my self, less focused on me, and more aware of others.

I'm with Avid... I still am trying to break myself of the habitual "OMG it's xmas, woe is me"... Because I have NOTHING to be blue about! I'm 11 days clean and sitting in the arms of my Higher Power...

But Dave is right... hit a meeting... If nothing else, you're out of your own head for an hour.

I hate meetings. More around this time then ever. Meetings do help from time to time. But I would rather be around my falimy. But my doesn't understand. I know I need help so maybe these on line meetings will help. Christmas time is the worse for me i hate this holiday. But i have kids now n i need to make it differnt for them.

Hey karebear....Yes, This can be a tough time of year. Especially when we have family issues, but it doesn't always have to be this way.
Find a good sponsor, someone who you can trust and then work the steps.
I tried everything to feel better. Drugs (of course), psychiatrists, religious guru's, you name it. The only thing that has brought about any real change in how I feel about myself and the rest of the world is the 12 steps of Narcotics Anonymous.
It may not always be a fun journey, but you paid for the ticket with your pain so you may as well take the ride.
