I HAVE BEN ON MY THIRD STEP SINCE MY FIRST YR CLEAN. DURING THAT TIME I HAD SOME TRUST ISSUES WITH MY SPONSOR WE HAVE DISCONNECTED BUT LATER WE WERE ABLE TO DISCUSS OUR ISSUE BUT THE RELATIONSHIP IS NOT THE SAME. I HAV GONE THRU A LOT OF GROWING WITHOUT SHARING IT WITH HER AND FEEL LIKE IM LIVIN IN MY THIRD STEP. WHEN IT COMES 2 WRITING IT DOWN MY PEN WONT MOVE. I NO IF I DONT KEEP WORKN I WIL LOSE WAT I HAV AND BEGAN 2 DO MY OWN WILL, FEELING DISCONNECTED BUT SO HOPEFUL DOES THAT MAKE SINCE?
Keep plugging away. The steps are not a race, but you should try to keep moving forward. It has been my experience that steps 1,2,3 often work together, so you may be working step 3 even though you haven't done any official writing on it. I am working step 3 whenever I follow the directions of a power greater than me and trust that things will be alright if I do this. In a sense, I begn working step 3 when I started following the suggestions given to me at meetings (i.e. don't use, go to meetings, get a sponsor, etc.).
THANKS SO MUCH DAVE. IT HASNT BEN EASY BUT EACH DAY IS DIFFERENT. I HAVE A LOT OF GRATITUDE AND VERY PLEASED WITH MY GROWTH AND THE WAY I DEAL WITH EVERYTHING I KEEP REACHING OUT AND GOING THRU CAUSE I REFUSE TO GET HIGH EVER AGAIN. LOL! (THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION), IT MEANS A LOT
Hey Goldengirl! good to see ya! yes for me until I worked this step "in all of my lives' (husband,father,son,brother,boss,friend etc...as our literature tells us, I was bouncing back and forth in too much of my own self will.By having a very strong based 2nd step when I turned over to the "care" of my Higher Power I was able to let go and let the results be God oriented rather than self willed..It takes daily practice and not easy for this hardhead but thats why we call it "work"You have rest of your life to "live in the solution' and the steps are never finsihed so when time is right you will get through this step and move forward,I am sure of that.Continue to "live the miracle of life",seek your Higher Power in all your affairs and more will definitely be revealed.Have a blessed and productiove day.Nice meeting you....

IM LEARNIN 2 TAKE SUGGESTIONS AND ANY ADVICE I RECEIVE AND APPLY IT, WITHOUT WAT IS SUGGESTED AS AN EXCUSE TO STAY STUCK AN ADDICT LIKE ME CAN TURN IT AROUND AND PAT MYSELF ON THE BACK AND SAY SELF ITS OK NOT 2 DO IT HE JUS GAVE U PERMISSION. Thanx for the post. I had similar diffs with my 1st sponsor. I endded up with a 2nd sposor who I'm still good friends with. That allowed me to gain a better perspective of my Higher Power and to get to understand better what I was to do. I'm currently with my 4th sponsor. He has been my sponsor for 16 years. I still have the same Higher Power!! God is good and NA makes my life so much more pleasurable. Please stay on the path.
