Today I am celebrating 3 years and 4 months of recovery. It saddens my heart to still have people I know who just dont get it. Its an easy program if you go to 90 meetings in 90 days, get a sponsor, and work the steps. My sponsor just celeberated 14 years in recovery last week. It is awesome. Dont leave before the miracle happens. Today as always im very greatful for NA
I'm hearin ya, it's not that they don't get it, it's that they don't keep it close...... All we have is today, wether we're new to recovery or 30yrs clean, we are addicts, we have the disease of addiction, we are never cured, we are just in remission. Today I'm grateful to be me, at 2+yrs I still keep it in today, ever reminding myself that as long as I don't pick up everything will be ok. I too have alot of friends that were in recovery, now in relapse and it is really hard to watch. All we can do is pray that they make it back and don't die in the process.......
congratulations Todd, share your celebration of life with the addict showing up with even 1 day clean ,as there is another beginning celebration of the miracle of freedom from active addiction! We may have 30 years or 30 minutes but each day we wake ,we are all newcomers to this day,,be blessed and thanks for sharing,in recovery we are visions of hope, and by living clean,we are attractions to the addicts still suffering,,we are examples of the program working!!!Just as some are sicker than others,it make take some longer than others to find their process. We are the messengers,we do not choose who does or does not get the message! 3 years,4 months, way cool!!!!!!
