speakers

Hey guys,

I was feeling a little dull in my recovery lately.  It started to feel like the same old same old, and for me that's a dangerous place for my head to go.  I definitely starting thinking about just one, and how much fun it was at one point... and not how horrible it was in the end....

so I started listening to some speakers from an online site... I downloaded them to my phone so I can listen to them during my travels and it got me out of that thinking
it put a spark back into my recovery and fired me up

now I'm pumped to carry the message and I feel energized
just thought I'd share
Thanks
Andrea

Been there too and you know you made an effort and a decision to continue with your recovery by taking responsibily for it and DOING SOMETHING you got into action and thats what it takes, good for you !

Indeed, eh. I have about 40 hrs of speaker "tapes" on my Zune. I like to listen to them when travelling to & from meetings on the bus. Especially on the way home, because if it was an especially good meeting, I can carry that good feeling along with me. And if I think that the meeting was, ummmm, not so good, a speaker can usually turn my thoughts around and make me feel "Awright!!!" again. And usually remember what I refused to see at that meeting.

Almost like a newsletter. A meeting in a box, or mp3, as the case may be...  thumbsup.gif

Good idea, I've always been a literature-reader in times such as these, but I've heard enough members sharing how listening to these speaker tapes at a particular moment or phase in their recovery made the turn-around possible!

I must certainly try to make use of this wonderful tool of recovery too I guess... thanks for sharing family!

Hi Tahir,, how are you... Missed u last nite at VOH.
Packed house, about 100 or so...great celebrations of group anniversary.

Thanks for sharin Andrea..
Im reminded how much my recovery was dependent in those early days on recorded shares...
Jimmy.K's share of 76 or so, Dawn.T bob and all those on tapes sold by WSO were my first experiences..
What I heard in those tapes saved my life !!!!!

I think theres a difference in what I hear in different spaces.
Like , though they all c arry the same message of recovery and unity, I hear different things in face to face, recorded and written texts..

So then my recovery becomes total...........

yeah, evenings have turned out to be my prime business hours these days cry.gif

Of course, I've been doing amazingly well at that, being recognized as a Power Seller and all at eBay worldwide, but it's just too overwhelming for me having had a daily job that requires just a few hours of work everyday in the last few years.

No doubt the orders and want lists keep pouring in, sales and returns I realize could be achieved without limit, but being a one-man show, having to spend 8-10 hours everyday on business besides my job is just getting too much.

My commitments and responsibilities towards my loved ones is the only factor that keeps me going here, to not give up on it...

I'm all the more grateful for these online NA communities in such days you know as I end up making a meeting or two in a week anyways, moreoever I do drop in at Honest Cafe almost every other day but for a quickie when I turk for coffee, I guess we are just yet to bump into each other...

Glad to know the Vision of Hope celebrations went well, I was planning to make it, in fact, I was about to start for that meeting when I got a local buyer's call with an urgent requirement wanting to meet... I had to go all the way to Basavangudi...

Hugs Raman, glad we got to meet, thanks to MIP!
