I was mistaken was under the influence yes but had not taken anything not perscribed was on the medsI was supposed to take as perscribed but one of the meds is new and I fell asleep behind the wheel long enough to end up in the other lane ove rthe median I hate the thought of driving even thought of giving the car to my son
I do not make face to face meeting for fear I will run into someone I would rather forget

When I got clean (Fall 1984) there were no online recovery meetings. Heck, people barely had personal computers and the internet was only a dream. I went to NA meetings. Yes, it was scary, but I knew I needed to make a change in my life, and I was willing to do what needed to be done. After a while, I started to get much more comfortable in meetings. Though I am glad that there is NA available on the internet now, I don't think I could have gotten clean just by typing stuff into a computer. I needed, and still need- to be with real, live people who can help me out. I hope you give real meetings a chance. There's no good excuse not to go.

I too have passed out behind the wheel--on a highway during the morning rush hour. Miracles surrounded all....I hit no one else as I spun around across all the lanes, rail to rail, and no one plowed into me after the car came to a crushing stop. All I had was a broken hip, three broken ribs and a broken orbitol bone. I am so grateful that I can go to live meetings.

Fear will hold you hostage until you release it. There are a 1000 ways to leave your lover, as the song goes. Unless, of course, it is somehow more satisfying to stay tethered.

"Life is fragile, handle with care. "
